Location: On-site at 6111 Visitor Center Road, Mt Morris, NY.

Hours: 10-15 hours a week, expandable to up to 30 hours as skill levels and work flow increases

Compensation: $15/hour

The Finger Lakes Trail Conference, Inc. (FLTC) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission“… to build, protect, enhance, and promote a continuous footpath across New York State for the enjoyment and health of residents and visitors. Forever!” Founded in 1962, The FLTC works in cooperation with its more than 1,400 members and various organizations to develop and maintain a premier hiking trail system in New York.

Position Overview

The Finger Lakes Trail Conference Database Entry Clerk position maintains the FLTC relational database records for membership and sales activity. This position requires on-site attendance at 6111 Visitor Center Road, Mt Morris, NY. It is a part-time position of 10-15 hours a week, expandable to up to 30 hours as skill levels and work flow increases.

Essential Duties

  • Work cooperatively in a business casual office setting, keeping a tidy and professional looking office environment and presenting a welcoming atmosphere for members and visitors to the office.
  • Become familiar with FLT organization to enable support inquiries.
  • Log in incoming mail and distribute to appropriate staff/members.
  • Answer phone and email inquiries as necessary to support day-to-day office functions.
  • Process orders, following a multi-step documented process, entering orders into databases, and filling/mailing the orders
    Become proficient with USPS Intelligent Mail Small Business (IMsb) application.
  • Maintain inventory of new Member packets, map supplies, etc
    Assist with filing and other routine day-to-day office work as assigned by the Office Manager.
  • Utilize and maintain additional spreadsheets as necessary to support various data entry and reporting needs.
  • Process requests for current and/or historical inquiries.
  • Utilize mail merge functionality for mail projects.
  • Carry out mass mailing activities with or without volunteer support.
  • Maintain a paper and/or digital file of all forms.
  • Keep accurate records of time worked.
  • Assist with programs and projects as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned including skills acquired after cross-training with other employees.
  • Report to the Office Manager / Director of Operations

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or currently enrolled in high school.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy is a must.
  • Experience with database management and input on multiple platforms.
