Yoga Hikes

Embark on a unique journey that blends the beauty of nature with the grounding practice of yoga. Our yoga hikes take you through beautiful landscapes, allowing you to connect with the outdoors while nurturing your mind, body, and spirit. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a beginner, our guided hikes combine gentle, flowing yoga sessions with scenic trails, providing a transformative experience in nature.

Each hike is designed to offer moments of mindfulness, relaxation, and rejuvenation, as you immerse yourself in the natural world around you. Our yoga hikes offer the perfect balance of physical activity and inner peace. See hike difficulty level in the description for each hike.

You will be led by experienced hiker and certified yoga instructor, Erin Potter.

These hikes require pre-registration. All participants should be aware that hiking trails may be slippery and have uneven terrain. Some of the hikes will have creek crossings and possibly mud. Proper sturdy hiking type footwear is advised. Wear weather appropriate clothing, the hikes are rain or shine. Bring drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen. A yoga mat is recommended for most hike offerings, see each description for more details.

Registration is for each individual hike.  A couple of days prior to the hike, registrants will receive a confirmation email with details. If you would like to participate in more than one hike, you must register for each hike. 

Hike #1: May 10, 2025

Hike Distance: ~2 miles
Description:

This easy/moderate hike follows a park trail to a Wegmans passport location. We will hike through a beautiful bluff and may even hear the roar of the waterfalls in the distance. We’ll warm up by hiking and taking in nature’s beauty with a few stretch spots on the way. Once we reach the passport location we’ll return the way we came. Back at the Parade Grounds, we will roll out our mats and breathe the fresh air as we move through a gentle flow for 30 minutes. Expect to hike less than 2 miles total.

Recommendation: Wear sturdy hiking type footwear (there are tree roots, uneven ground). Wear weather appropriate clothing, the hike is rain or shine. Yoga will be in pavilion if raining. Bring yoga mat, drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen. . 

Hike #2: June 14, 2025

Description:

This easy hike follows the FLT main trail and park trails around the lake. Wander through the woods and find the Wegman’s passport station. We’ll warm up by hiking, then start our yoga session back on the beach. Expect to hike less than 2 miles total. Yoga session will follow a gentle flow for 30-45 minutes

Recommendation: Wear sturdy hiking type footwear (there are tree roots, uneven ground, creek crossings, possible mud). Wear weather appropriate clothing, the hike is rain or shine. Bring yoga mat, drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen.

Hike #3: July 12, 2025

Hike Distance: ~1.5 miles
Description:

This is a moderate hike through part of Hoxie Gorge State Forest. In this session, we’ll saunter through the beautiful woods and stop at several locations along the way. Expect to hike less than 2 miles total, but include a bit of elevation. Yoga stops will include standing poses and meditation practices, no mat required for this one!

Recommendation: Wear sturdy hiking type footwear (there are tree roots, uneven ground, creek crossings, possible mud). Bring drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen. 

Hike #4: August 9, 2025

Description:

This easy hike follows an out and back trail for less than a mile. We’ll hike to the falls and take in the peaceful sounds as we sit for a meditation. We will then hike back to our yoga spot and move through a gentle flow for 30-45 minutes.

Recommendation: Wear sturdy hiking type footwear. Wear weather appropriate clothing, the hike is rain or shine. Bring yoga mat, drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen. 

Hike #5: September 13, 2025

Hike Distance: ~2.5 miles
Description:

This moderate hike will meander through the forest and along the peaceful stream. We will make stops along the way for some standing yoga flow. There will also be a guided meditation. You may choose to bring a mat or towel for sitting during the meditation, but it is optional. Expect to hike less than 3 miles total.

Recommendation: Wear sturdy hiking type footwear (there are tree roots, uneven ground, creek crossings, possible mud). Wear weather appropriate clothing, the hike is rain or shine. Bring drinking water, bug spray, and sunscreen. Yoga mat is optional for this one. There will be some meditation so you may want something to sit on. A towel would work too.
