The annual FLTC Fall Campout is three days of hikes and two evening programs, usually in a more rustic setting.

2016 Event Report
The just-concluded 2016 Fall Finger Lakes Trail Campout weekend was held at the General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, NY, on the shores of the Susquehanna River. It was hosted by the Binghamton-based Triple Cities Hiking Club (TCHC).
Attendees numbered around 100 and were given their choice to participate in any of the 21 different hikes (and one bike ride) offered during the three day weekend event. The hikes pretty much covered FLT maps M24 (Bowman Lake State Park) all the way to map M31 (Little Pond Campground in the Catskill Mountains), with daily mileages varying from 4 to almost 11.
Friday evening we were treated to a very entertaining and spirited trivia contest. We divided into nine teams to vie for weekend “bragging rights” along with some “trivial” prizes like candy bars, planted mums, official TCHC koozies, and miniature pumpkins.
Saturday night Jerry Carlson, the NY DEC’s leading research scientist on invasive species, spoke to the group to tell us the latest in the fight against the several different invasive species which are currently threatening NY’s forest lands.
For a basically rainy weekend, we did “luck out” some, with our being able to get in the Saturday and Sunday hikes in rain-free conditions…however, we won’t talk about Friday’s hikes or what it was like to camp out on Friday and Saturday nights !
On behalf of the TCHC, I’d like to thank everyone who participated in this event, with Finger Lakes Trail members coming from all across the state and many of them representing clubs like the Foothills Trail Club, Cayuga Trails Club, ADK-Onondaga, Bullthistle Club, and of course the Triple Cities Hiking Club.

The annual FLT Fall Campout will be held the weekend of September 30 to October 2, 2016. It will be hosted by the Binghamton area-based Triple Cities Hiking Club and held at the General Clinton Park in Bainbridge, NY
This campground, located just over a mile from the FLT, offers a huge number of tenting spaces along with RV/Camper sites (electric & water hookups), plus a large enclosed picnic pavilion where we’ll be serving meals and holding programs. Several motels are nearby, as well.
Full-day and half-day hikes will be offered on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The campground will be open Thursday night for those coming from a long distance.
